![]() St. Helena | Wine and Wineries ZD
Wines - The success of ZD Wines can only be attributed to the
dedication and winemaking philosophy of the de Leuze family. As ZD Wines
moves forward, the family continues to grow. Norman and Rosa Lee's grandchildren
represent the 4th generation to contribute their time and skills to
the winery. In 1996 the de Leuze family purchased an historical, 33-acre
vineyard in Carneros. Formerly owned by Irish immigrant Patrick Flanagan,
the property is planted with 26 acres of Chardonnay. Another seven acres
was planted with Pinot Noir which produced its first vintage in 1999.
As the winery continues to grow, so does the vision of ZD Wines. (707) 963-5188 Beaulieu Vineyards - When he founded BV in 1900, on an unimproved four-acre lot in the tiny town of Rutherford, Georges de Latour had a single vision: to bring world-class wine to America. As it turned out, he not only made better wine - he revolutionized the whole process. (707) 967-5200 Beringer Wine Estates - At Beringer Vineyards we're celebrating two big milestones in 2001 - the winery's 125th anniversary and Winemaster Ed Sbragia's 25th year at Beringer! (707) 963-2969 Burgess Cellars - Burgess Cellars is a stone and redwood mountainside winery which was originally started in the 1880's. It's adjacent varieties of grapes which are best suited to the particular aspects of that land; such as soil, exposure, and climate. That is why the Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Zinfandel are planted in the winery's mountain vineyards. (707) 963-4766 Flora Springs Winery - is a family endeavor that epitomizes hard work, dedication and teamwork . The vitality of our family is obvious as we set about the task of growing great grapes and making absolutely delicious wine. Even the name Flora Springs has significance - Flora is our mother and the springs refer to the water source on the property that has flowed uninterrupted regardless of periods of drought. (707) 963-5711 Folie a Deux Winery - Located in a century-old, yellow farmhouse that was built by a Spanish prizefighter turned sheep farmer, the visitor's center sits on top of a knoll surrounded by vineyards. The aesthete is located 2 1/2 miles north of St. Helena at the narrowest part of the Napa Valley with Spring Mountain to the east and Howell Mountain to the west. (707) 963-1160 Frog's Leap Winery - Originally, founded on a spot along Mill Creek known as the Frog Farm, Frog's Leap now makes it's home in the heart of Rutherford in the historic Red Barn. Our family owned winery has been farming responsibly and producing wines since 1981. Presented with a warm sense of humor ~ our motto says it all "Time's Fun When You're Having Flies". Enjoy your virtual visit! (707) 963-4704 Lamborn Family Wine Co. - Each fall we harvest into one-half ton bins for the short trip to the winery. The ripe Zinfandel fruit receives gentle treatment in these small bins as opposed to gondolas which carry four to five tons of fruit. At the winery the contents of each bin travels along a conveyer on its way to the stemmer. This allows us a final opportunity to select just the perfect fruit before the small ripe berries become juice. (510) 254-0511 Louis M. Martini Winery - Louis M. Martini, an Italian immigrant and a colorful entrepreneur, built the winery that bears his name in the Napa Valley in 1933. (707) 963-7777 Nichelini Winery, Inc. - is one of California's most historic wineries. It was homesteaded in 1884 by Anton Nichelini, a Swiss-ltalian immigrant. It is still in the same family. Now owned and operated by four of his grandchildren, making it the oldest "Family Operated" winery in the Napa Valley. The building itself is of historical interest. Although the process can be very similar from one winery to another, the wines can be very different depending on the grapes, on the winemakers style, on the timing, and on the type of equipment used. (707) 963-8511 Rustridge Winery - It's only a 15-minute drive from the Silverado Trail in the Napa Valley to RustRidge Ranch & Winery, but it's a drive that takes you far, far away from the hustle and clatter (map & directions).
